Srinagar/Jammu, Dec 12: Police Headquarters have written to Jammu and Kashmir Home Department asking for recruitment of eight-hundred sub-inspectors in the force to bridge an expanding gap in the required manpower.
A top-police officer in the know-how of the things told Kashmir Glory that “As outlined by an English daily, the Jammu and Kashmir police has been facing shortage of manpower and the same issue has been taken with J&K Home Department.”
“We have as such written to J&K Home department while expecting that the recruitment will start at an earliest”, the officer said adding that “The recruited personnel will be inducted in JKP’s Armed and Executive wings.”
In addition to the recruitment of sub-inspectors, the PHQ has already set the recruitment process in motion for the appointment of twenty-seven constables in Jammu and Kashmir Police Force, the officer said.
We are intending to raise four battalions two each of men and women, the officer said that “In order to raise four battalions including two border battalions and two women battalions, the PHQ has appointed two different boards for recruitment which are to be headed by ADGP S.D Singh Jamwal and IGP Danesh Rana.”
“About twenty-seven youth (both male and female) are to be recruited in these four battalions”, the officer said.
“PHQ has also issued notification of Physical Endurance Test (PET) for recruitment of two border battalion, advertisement of which was issued under endorsement No- Pers-Rectt-A-105-2018/16207-50 dated 09.03.2019”, the officer said adding “earlier, this recruitment was postponed in the month of March 2020 due to the outbreak of pandemic.”
The recruitment, according to the officer, will be restarted for the candidates of district Jammu and Samba w.e.f 24.12.2020 at UTDRF Ground, adjacent to the Gulshan Ground, Jammu.
The candidates have been advised to come with COVID free certificates, admit cards, and undertaking/no risk certificate which are to be made available to the aspiring candidates w.e.f 17.12.2020, the officer added.
