Srinagar, March 25: The University of Kashmir has directed its employees not to visit government treasuries or external offices without prior approval, warning of disciplinary action in case of violations, officials said.

The directive, issued by the General Administration wing of the university, comes after authorities observed that some employees were directly approaching treasuries for follow-up on personal payment-related matters.

The move is aimed at enforcing administrative discipline and ensuring that official procedures are followed for all external engagements related to university work.

“It has been noticed that certain employees of the University have been visiting government treasuries directly for follow-up on matters pertaining to their personal payments… without authorization,” the circular said.

According to the circular, employees have been strictly instructed not to approach treasuries or any external office in connection with official matters without prior approval from the competent authority.

“Any violation of this directive will render the concerned employee liable to disciplinary action under rules,” it said.

University officials said the directive is intended to streamline administrative processes and prevent unauthorized interactions with external agencies.

The circular also places responsibility on officers and administrative heads to ensure that the instructions are communicated effectively to all staff members under their control for strict compliance.

“All officers are requested to ensure that the contents of this circular are brought into the notice of the staff under their administrative control for strict compliance,” the document stated.

The development highlights ongoing efforts by the university administration to regulate procedural practices and maintain institutional discipline in official dealings.  [KNT]
