Srinagar, June 15 (GNS): Leading pulmonologist and Head of Department, Chest Disease Hospital Srinagar, one of the exclusive facilities for the management o f the novel coronavirus in the Valley, has tested negative for the covid-19.
On June 1, the senior doctor, one of the top healthcare workers leading from the front in the fight against the disease, had tested positive for the virus.
Sources told GNS that his back to back tests returned negative for SARS-CoV2, the microbe that causes Covid-19. He has now been placed under home quarantine as per the Union health ministry’s guidelines.
Soon after testing positive a fortnight ago, the senior doctor, in a series of tweets, had urged government to prepare a scientific SOP for duties and testing of all frontline workers to safeguard all.
“Request to administration for preparing a scientific SOP for duties and testing of all frontline workers to safeguard all (sic),” the doctor had tweeted. GNS)
