Srinagar, June 21(GNS): Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha marked International Day of Yoga by joining citizens at Dal Lake and calling for greater focus on wellness through yoga.
In a post on X, Sinha extended greetings on the occasion and highlighted this year’s theme, ‘Yoga for Healthy Ageing’. He said that with rising stress and modern health challenges, yoga offers a powerful ray of hope, and urged people to take a step toward wellness by participating and committing to a healthier lifestyle.
“True health means balancing body, mind, and emotions. While modern life constantly pulls our attention outward to screens and stress, Yoga teaches us to turn inward,” he wrote. He added that it was encouraging to see the ancient Indian tradition become a cornerstone of global health.
Sinha noted the enthusiasm across Jammu and Kashmir for International Day of Yoga, saying the practice “truly unites the world and guides us toward a healthier, happier future.”(GNS)
