Major Reshuffle in J&K Finance Department; Over 70 Officers Transferred

Srinagar, April 30: The Government of Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday ordered a large-scale reshuffle in the Finance Department, transferring and posting more than 70 officers across various departments and districts to streamline administrative functioning.

According to Government Order No. 174-F of 2026 dated April 30, 2026, the transfers and postings have been made with immediate effect in the interest of administration.

As per the order, several senior officers have been reassigned to key positions. Mr. Iftikhar Hussain Chouhan, Director Finance in the Information Technology Department, has been given additional charge as Director Finance in the Chief Minister’s Secretariat. Ms. Naila Zahoor Chib, Director Finance Police Headquarters J&K, has been transferred and posted as Director Finance at the Accountancy Training Institute, Srinagar.

Among other significant changes, Mr. Yasir Sharief has been shifted from Saddar Treasury Jammu to serve as Financial Advisor/CAO in the J&K Sports Council, while Mr. Sachin Verma has been posted as Treasury Officer Saddar Treasury Jammu. Mr. Manohar Lal has been moved to JPDCL Kathua as Chief Pay & Accounts Officer.

The reshuffle also includes multiple postings in the health and education sectors. Mr. Mohd Ayoub Lone has been posted as District Treasury Officer Anantnag, while Ms. Nuzhat Mushtaq has been assigned as Financial Advisor/CAO at Government Medical College, Srinagar.

Several Chief Accounts Officers have also been repositioned across departments. Mr. Irfan Majid has been posted with the J&K Road Transport Corporation, while Mr. Nishad Akhtar has been transferred to the Police Headquarters Srinagar. Mr. Mohd Iqbal Pedhar has been posted as Chief Accounts Officer in SICOP.

In district-level changes, officers have been shifted in Kupwara, Pulwama, Kulgam, Baramulla, Ganderbal, and other districts to strengthen treasury and accounts management. Notably, Mr. Farooq Ahmad Lone has been posted as District Treasury Officer Pulwama, while Mr. Belal Ahmad Lone has been shifted to the Directorate of Industries and Commerce, Srinagar.

The order further includes adjustments of officers awaiting promotion, who have now been placed as Chief Accounts Officers or District Treasury Officers in various departments and districts.

The government stated that these transfers aim to enhance efficiency, ensure better financial governance, and improve coordination among departments.

The order has been issued by the Finance Department under the approval of the competent authority and signed by Financial Commissioner (ACS) Finance, Shailendra Kumar. (KNC)
