Srinagar, Aug 4: A 50-year-old pedestrian died after being hit by an unidentified vehicle in the Tapper Pattan area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district, officials said on Tuesday.
Officials told news agency JKNS that, the deceased has been identified as Mohammad Shafi Para, son of Ghulam Mohammad Para, a resident of Hamray Pattan.
He was crossing the road when an unidentified vehicle struck him, leaving him critically injured.
He was initially taken to the Trauma Hospital Pattan and later referred to SMHS Hospital Srinagar for advanced treatment. However, doctors at SMHS declared him brought dead.
Police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated an investigation to identify the vehicle involved and ascertain the circumstances surrounding the accident. (JKNS)
