March 30: Acting tough against the social crimes, J&K Police in Anantang have arrested three gamblers and seized stake money from their possession.
Acting on reliable information regarding gambling activities in the Ganeshpora area, Police Station Aishmuqam conducted a prompt and well-coordinated raid at the specified location. During the operation, three individuals were apprehended on the spot while indulging in gambling. The accused have been identified as Mohd Akbar Rather son of Mohd Shaban Rather, Javaid Ahmad Rather Sson of Gh Rasool Rather and Sajad Ahmad Dass son of Abdul Ahad Dass, all residents of Waghama, Bijbehara.
Officers have seized an amount of ₹12,750/- and playing cards from their possession. They have been arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody. Accordingly, a case FIR No. 17/2026 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Aishmuqam. Further investigation into the matter is underway.
Person found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt as per the law. General public is requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.
