May 07: In continuation of the ongoing drive under Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, Police in Kulgam, along with Revenue authorities, retrieved state land measuring 05 Kanal 12 Marlas in the jurisdiction of Police Station Devsar.
The land, situated at Village Malwan (Khasra No. 697 min), was under unauthorized occupation of a drug peddler, Shahzad Ahmad Paddar son of Gull Mohammad Paddar resident of Malwan, who is involved in FIR No. 40/2020 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act. The retrieved land, in the shape of orchards, has an estimated market value of approximately ₹1 crore.
The retrieval was carried out jointly by Kulgam Police and Revenue authorities as part of sustained efforts to dismantle the illegal infrastructure and financial networks of drug peddlers.
SSP Kulgam, Anayat Ali Choudhary-IPS, while reiterating the firm resolve of the police, stated that strict action will continue against individuals involved in drug trafficking, and all illegal assets, encroachments, and proceeds of crime linked to such activities will be identified and dealt with as per law.
J&K Police appeals to the general public to come forward with information regarding drug peddling or illegal encroachments, assuring full confidentiality and strict action against offenders.
