New Delhi, Jan 5: A Delhi court on Monday remanded Yasir Ahmed Dar, an accused in the Red Fort blast case, to 11 days of judicial custody.

As per news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC, Principal District and Sessions Judge Anju Bajaj Chandna passed the order after Dar was produced before the court, directing that he be lodged in judicial custody till January 16.

Earlier, on December 26, the court had extended his custody with the National Investigation Agency (NIA) by ten days.

Dar was arrested by the NIA on December 18 and is the ninth accused to be taken into custody in connection with the case.

According to the NIA, Dar, a resident of Jammu and Kashmir, was a close associate of Umar-un-Nabi, the suicide bomber who drove the explosive-laden vehicle that detonated outside the Red Fort on November 10. The blast claimed 15 lives and left several others injured.

The agency further stated that Dar allegedly played an active role in the conspiracy leading to the attack and was in constant contact with other accused persons, including Umar-un-Nabi and Mufti Irfan. (KNC)
