Srinagar , Aug 15(GNS): A residential house was completely destroyed in a fire incident in Jamadar Bijhama area of Boniyar in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Saturday.
The house belonged to Bashir Ahmad Badan and Nazir Ahmad Badar, sons of Matwali Badar, residents of Bijhama.
Locals told GNS that the blaze erupted due to a suspected electrical short circuit. Immediately after the incident, residents along with a police team from Police Station Bijhama rushed to the spot and started efforts to douse the flames. With joint efforts, the fire was later brought under control.
Residents said the bad condition of the approach road created hurdles, due to which the fire tender could not reach the spot in time. The incident resulted in extensive damage to the dwelling.(GNS)
