Srinagar, Nov 4 : Weather on Tuesday evening said that several high-altitude areas in Jammu and Kashmir are witnessing snowfall saying that the wet spell with light to moderate rains and snow is likely to continue for next 12 hours.

Independent weather forecaster Faizan Arif told news agency Kashmir News Corner (KNC) that, As of 6 p.m., Razdan Top recorded 2 inches of snow, while Sonamarg, Baltal, and Zojila Pass reported light snowfall with 1-2 cm accumulation.

Tulail in Gurez Valley also received 1-2 cm of snow, and light snowfall was observed over Sinthan Top, Peer Ki Gali, and Gulmarg, Faizan said.

Speaking about the short-term forecast, Arif said that rain and snow showers are likely to continue for the next 8-10 hours, after which precipitation will gradually reduce.

Looking ahead, he added that mostly dry weather is expected to prevail from tomorrow and continue for the next 10-15 days across Jammu and Kashmir.

This weather pattern provides relief to lowland areas while maintaining snow conditions at higher elevations, crucial for tourism and water resources in the valley. (KNC)
