Srinagar, June 10th: A designated NIA court in Srinagar has issued a proclamation against Hizbul Mujahideen chief Syed Salahuddin and three other alleged Hizbul commanders in connection with a 1996 case originally registered by the Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK).
The court’s order follows an investigation into allegations of militant recruitment, cross-border training, and activities linked to the banned outfit. The other accused named in the proclamation include Ghulam Nabi Khan alias Amir Khan, Sher Mohammad alias Bahadur, and Nasir Yousuf Qadri, who are stated to be absconding.
Officials said the proclamation was issued after the accused failed to appear before the court despite repeated efforts by investigating agencies to secure their presence. The court has directed further legal action as per the provisions of law.
Authorities described the development as part of ongoing efforts to pursue long-absconding accused and strengthen the crackdown on militancy-related cases in Jammu and Kashmir.
