Qazigund, Aug 19: A man from the Kund belt of Kulgam district drowned to death while trying to rescue children who were bathing in a stream near Badragund area of Qazigund on Wednesday.
The deceased has been identified as Zahoor Ahmad Ganie, son of Abdul Majeed Ganie, a resident of Nigeenpora, Kund.
According to reports, Zahoor was attempting to save children who were bathing in the stream when he drowned. The children were reportedly rescued safely.
Zahoor was rushed to the Emergency Hospital Qazigund, where doctors declared him brought dead.
Police have taken cognisance of the incident and initiated further proceedings. (KNC)
