Srinagar: Two persons were injured on Tuesday evening after massive fire broke out in the Habbakadal area of Srinagar, engulfing several residential houses, officials said.
An official told news agency Kashmir News Corner (KNC), that the fire erupted near the revered Nyama Sahib shrine in the locality.
“Two to three residential houses are involved in the blaze,” an official said, adding that the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained.
Meanwhile, sources told KNC that “at least two people sustained burn injuries and were shifted to SMHS Hospital, Srinagar; however, their condition was not immediately known.”
Firefighting teams rushed to the scene and are working to douse the flames and prevent the fire from spreading further in the densely populated area. Operations are still underway. —(KNC)
