Anantnag, April 30: A tragic road accident claimed the life of a young man while another sustained injuries after a car overturned in the Mattan area of Anantnag district on Thursday evening.
According to reports, a Polo car bearing registration number DL3CCN8591 was travelling from Pahalgam towards Anantnag when the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle near Bumzoo on the KP road, causing it to overturn.
Two occupants of the vehicle were critically injured in the mishap and were immediately shifted to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Seer Hamdhan for medical treatment.
One of the injured, identified as Umer Bashir Bhat, son of Bashir Ahmad Bhat and a resident of Pazalpora Bijbehara, later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
The other injured, Yawer Manzoor Lone, son of Manzoor Ahmad Lone from the same area, is currently undergoing treatment and is reported to be in stable condition.
Meanwhile, police have taken note of the incident and initiated further investigation into the cause of the accident.(KNC)
