Uri, Oct 24:(GNS) Twenty two people have tested positive for COVID-19 virus in north Kashmir’s Uri town on Saturday.

Official sources told GNS that five family members of a confectionary shop, his three men and fourteen others have tested positive for COVID-19.

He said that the confectioner is a resident of Uttar Pradesh (UP) and is running a shop in Uri and living in the town on a rented accommodation.

Other fourteen who tested positive for COVID virus are residents of different villages of Uri.

He said that tested COVID patients were advised to go for strict home quarantine as per protocol.

The Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) is being conducted in Uri on the direction of District Magistrate Baramulla. The covid test drive will continue for a week. The samples are being taken from banks, bus and sumo stands, hotels and Restaurants, Government departments and hospitals.

A health official said that 432 samples have been taken in the last three days through rapid antigen test (RAT) at Uri market and banks in which 44 have tested positive for the COVID-19 virus.(GNS)
