Srinagar, May 17: A non-local carpenter from Punjab was declared brought dead at SMHS Hospital in Srinagar after he was shifted there in an unconscious condition on Sunday, officials said.
The deceased was identified as Malikit Singh, son of Jasbir Singh, a resident of Amritsar in Punjab, presently residing in the Nishat area of Srinagar. He was around 25 years old and was working as a carpenter in the Valley.
Officials said the man was brought to SMHS Hospital Srinagar in an unconscious state, where doctors examined him and declared him brought dead.
The cause of death was not immediately known. Police have taken cognizance of the incident and further proceedings are expected as per procedure. [KNT]
