Srinagar, Aug 10 (GNS): As part of its ongoing crackdown on narcotics trade, Srinagar Police have attached immovable property worth around ₹4 crore in Budgam district belonging to a notorious drug peddler.
In a handout to GNS, the police said that the property of Fayaz Ahmad Dar, son of Ghulam Hussain Dar, resident of Ichgam, Budgam was attached by Police Station Khanyar in connection with FIR No. 04/2026 registered under Sections 8/21 of the NDPS Act, 1985.
According to officials, the attached assets include a two-storey residential house with an attic, along with 5 kanals and 17 marlas of land. The land bears Khasra numbers 415/416 and is located at Ichgam, Budgam. The estimated market value of the property is about ₹4 crore.
The attachment was carried out under Section 68-F of the NDPS Act, after the property was identified as an asset allegedly acquired from proceeds of drug trafficking.
Police said the action is part of J&K Police’s broader efforts to dismantle the financial networks of drug traffickers and strip them of wealth generated through the illicit trade.
“Srinagar Police remains committed to making the city drug-free and will continue strict action against traffickers, their associates and properties linked to narcotics,” officials added.(GNS)
