Elderly man injured, 5 structures damaged due to winds in Mendhar Poonch

Jammu, March 23 (GNS): A 60-year-old man was injured after hit on head by a flying tin sheet amid gusty winds which also damaged the rooftops of four houses and a school in Mendhar area of Poonch on Tuesday. 

Official sources told GNS due to gusty winds, a tin sheet got uprooted and hit on the head of one Mumtaz Hussein (60) son of Dulla Khan of Gultha area of the Mendhar.   

The injured was shifted to Government Sub District Hospital Mendhar. “His condition is stable,” Dr Parvaiz Ahmed Khan, Block Medical Officer Mendhar, told GNS.

Meanwhile reports said that houses belonging to Nisar Ahmed and Abdul Ghani were also damaged along with that of two other persons at Harni area.  

Sarpanch of Harni Waseem Ahmed Khan told GNS that four houses were damaged besides rooftop of one school building.

Tehsildar Mendhar Dr Vikram Kumar also confirmed the damage to these structures due to gusty winds. (GNS)
