Srinagar, Mar 25: IQAC of GDC Pattan organized a 5- Day Industrial and Agrarian Entrepreneurship Development Workshop Cum Seminar, commencing Tuesday last.
A press statement received here reads that Prof (Dr) Ghulam Jeelani Qureshi welcomed the Chief Guest and other resource persons of the workshop. In his welcome address, Qureshi mentioned about the need and importance of such programmes for the benefit of the student community.
Chief Guest of the occasion, Dr. Nisar Ahmad Mir (Registrar, University of Kashmir) opined that the students need to work on the novel and innovative ideas. Students need to look forward to the Agriculture oriented job avenues as well.
Prof. Tariq Ashai President CTA appreciated the College authority for taking a lead in organizing such programs. Acquiring of some job-oriented skills is of paramount importance in the present scenario.
This was followed by a Key note address and threadbare discussion on the theme by Dr. Sheikh Fayaz who is an Innovation Researcher, Zhejiang University, China. He talked about the origin of innovation in developing countries and appreciated the college for organizing such events.
Inaugural session was immediately followed by two technical sessions which were delivered by Dr. Nisar Ahmad Ganaie and Dr. Irfan Latif Khan from College of Temperate Sericulture, Mirgund. The student participants enthusiastically participated in workshop. Raj Mohd, a successful Sericulture Entrepreneur shared his success story with participants.
The sessions were conducted by Prof Sajad Sarvar, Organizing Secretary of the Workshop and the Vote of thanks presented by Dr. Imtiyaz Gul, Staff Secretary of the College.
