J&K Reports 835 Covid-19 Cases In Record Daily Spike This Year

Srinagar, April 8 (GNS):  Jammu and Kashmir reported 835 fresh covid-19 cases, including 162 travelers in the last 24 hours, the highest number of infections reported in a single day this year, officials said on Thursday.

Among the fresh cases, they said, Jammu division reported 280 cases and Kashmir 555, taking the J&K’s overall infection count to 135662.

Also, more person— 80-year-old patient from Singpora Baramulla—died due to the virus, taking the total toll to 2019—745 in Jammu region and 1274 in Kashmir.

Providing district wise details, the officials told GNS that Srinagar reported 349 cases, Baramulla 74, Budgam 24, Pulwama 8, Kupwara 31, Anantnag 22, Bandipora 18, Ganderbal 7, Kulgam 18, Shopian 4, Jammu 148, Udhampur 35, Rajouri 9, Doda 4, Kathua 20, Samba 8, Kishtwar 4, Poonch 3, Ramban 2and Reasi 47.

A number of these cases were confirmed at diagnostic laboratories of CD hospital here and GMC Anantnag.

The CD cases include male (45) (NA) from Sadribal, male (07) (NA) from Zakura, female (24) (NA) from Kashmir University, male (25) (NA) from Naseem Bagh, male (22) (NA) from Habbak, male (35) (NA) from Kashmir University, male (60) (NA) from Zakura, female (37) (NA) from Nishat, female (22) (NA) from Nageen, female (55) (NA) from Nishat, male (49) (NA) from Nowshera, female (01) (NA) from Eidgah, female (02) (NA) from Brain, male (03) (NA) from Dargah, female (04) (NA) from Habbak, male (06) (NA) from Zakura, female (07) (NA) from Zakura, male (08) (NA) from Gulabagh, male (09) (NA) from Buchpora, male (10) (NA) from Gulabagh, male (11) (NA) from NIT, female (12) (NA) from Zakura, male (13) (NA) from Zakura, female (14) (NA) from Zakura, male (44) (NA) from Rainawari, female (28) (NA) from Zakura, female (65) (NA) from Sgr, male (48) (NA) from Sgr, male (60) (NA) from Pinjura, male (50) (NA) from Sgr, female (60) (NA) from Kupwara, female (45) (NA) from Humhama, male (38) (NA) from Pulwama, female (35) (NA) from Batamaloo, female (04) (NA) from Batamaloo, female (30) (NA) from Batamaloo, male (58) (NA) from Lal Nagar, female (51) (NA) from Hyderpora, female (19) (NA) from HMT, male (33) (NA) from Sgr, female (60) (NA) from Safakadal, female (30) (NA) from Safakadal, male (27) (NA) from Kupwara, male (50) (NA) from Kupwara, male (35) (NA) from Sgr, male (35) (NA) from Budgam, female (42) (NA) from Ganderbal, female (53) (NA) from Shopian, female (60) (NA) from Khaag, female (28) (NA) from Khaniyar.

The GMC Anantnag cases include male (65) from Kadipora, male (33) from Kolkata, female (25) from Tamil Nadu, female (32) from Punjab, male (35) from Punjab, male (64) from Amli.

According to the officials, among the total 135662 cases in J&K, 14363 have been reported as travelers while 121299 as others.

Moreover, they said, 246 more COVID-19 patients have recovered—22 from Jammu Division and 224 from Kashmir Division. The number of active cases rose to 5623—1688in Jammu and 3935 in Kahsmir. (GNS)
