Kulgam, Aug 24: Police in Kulgam have recovered a kidnapped minor girl within an hour and arrested the accused person involved in the commission of crime.
Police Station Kulgam in a statement issued to Kashmir Glory said that it received a written complaint from one person stating therein that his minor daughter was kidnapped by one person namely Muntazir Ahmad Shakhsaz son of Mohammad Yaqoob Shakhsaz resident of Chawalgam.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 197/2021 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Kulgam and investigation was initiated, the statement reads.
During the course of investigation, a team headed by SHO Police Station Kulgam under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Kulgam Shri Ghulam Muhamad Bhat-JKPS was constituted to trace and rescue the kidnapped girl. Acting on specific leads and by utilizing all available means, the team was able to recover the kidnapped girl and arrest the accused person involved in the commission of crime within one hour after complaint was received, the statement reads.
After fulfilling all medico-legal formalities, the girl has been handed over to her legal heirs. Further investigation into the matter is in progress, the statement reads.
Swift action by Police against anti-social elements has been appreciated by the locals. Community members are requested to cooperate with police in curbing social crimes in their neighbourhood. They can share information pertaining to social crimes with police. We reassure the community members that our efforts in curbing social crimes shall continue, it concluded.
