Srinagar, May 27 (GNS): An 8-year-old girl was charred alive in an overnight fire at her houseboat in Dal Lake here, officials said on Friday.
An official of the fire and emergency department told GNS the houseboat at Nehru Park Dalgate Srinagar, near Ghat no.16, was gutted in a massive blaze. He said that soon after receiving the information about the blaze, fire tenders were rushed to the spot and fire was brought under control. Later body of the 8-year-old girl, Nahida Bashir daughter of Bashir Ahmad, was recovered. A police official told GNS that cause of the fire is being investigated. (GNS)
