Udhampur, Aug 23: A tragic road accident on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway near Tikri, Udhampur, has claimed the lives of a mother and son from Kishtwar while father was also injured in the incident.
An official told news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC, the deceased have been identified as Shafiqa Begum, wife of Abdul Kabir Zargar, and their 33-year-old son, Asif Kabir Zargar, both residents of Kishtwar.
The accident occurred when their Baleno car (No. JK 02CH/5448), which was traveling from Jammu towards Kishtwar, lost control and hit a roadside parapet wall, official said.
The father, Abdul Kabir Zargar, a retired NHPC employee, sustained injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at Government Medical College (GMC) Jammu.
A case has been registered, and a police investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of the accident. (KNC)
