November 23: As part of its sustained action against drug dealings, Police in Sopore apprehended a drug peddler during naka checking on Shalpora–Tujjer General Road, under the jurisdiction of Police Station Bomai.
A suspicious individual attempted to flee on noticing the naka party, but the alert team acted apprehended him tactfully. He has been identified as Faheem Sultan Wagay son of Mohammad Sultan Wagay resident of Warpora Sopore. During search, charas-like substance was recovered from his possession.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 69/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Bomai and investigation has been initiated.
J&K Police reiterates its firm commitment to maintaining zero tolerance towards drug peddling and urges the public to join hands in efforts to eradicate the drug menace from society.
