Poonch, Jan 30 (GNS): A 45-year-old woman died after being struck by a truck in Shendara, Poonch, in a hit-and-run incident on Friday evening, officials said.
They told GNS that the victim, identified as Hamida Bi, wife of the late Mohd Akbar and a resident of Shendara, was rushed to District Hospital Poonch following the accident. “Doctors at the hospital pronounced her dead on arrival.”
The truck, they added, fled the scene after the collision.
Police have in the meantime registered a case and launched an investigation to identify and apprehend the driver responsible for the incident. (GNS)
