Srinagar, Feb 25 : Traffic Police Srinagar has issued a detailed advisory for tomorrow i.e; February 26, 2026, in view of a VVIP visit to the city, announcing traffic restrictions and diversions from 0700 hours to 1400 hours.

According to the advisory issued by the Srinagar Traffic Police Office a copy of which lies with news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC, no motorist shall be allowed to ply towards Nishat, Shalimar, Harwan and adjacent areas via Badyari Chowk and Gupkar.

Similarly, no traffic shall be permitted to move from Ram Munshibagh towards Grand Place and will instead be diverted towards Dalgate–Sangermal–Illkhan Chowk for their respective destinations, it states.

The advisory further states that no motorist shall be allowed to ply on the Dalgate–Khayam–Khanyar–Rainawari–Saidkadal–Hazratbal road during the specified hours.

Motorists intending to travel from Harwan–Shalimar–Nishat, Ganderbal and adjoining areas towards Lal Chowk have been requested to adopt the Burzahama–Chandpora–Tailbal–Zakoorа–Malbagh–Illahibagh–90 Feet Road route and vice versa to reach their destinations.

Similarly, commuters travelling from Dalgate, Lal Chowk and adjacent areas towards Harwan–Shalimar–Nishat shall adopt the Sangermal–Illkhan Chowk–Nowhatta–90 Feet–Malbagh Road route.

Traffic Police also informed that motorists heading towards Srinagar city from Harwan, Shalimar and Nishat will be allowed to move via Burzahama–Chandpora–Tailbal–Zakoorа–Malbagh–Illahibagh–90 Feet Road and vice versa.

Further, motorists intending to travel from Panthachowk–Pandhrethan towards R.M. Bagh will be allowed to move via Peaks–Nowgam Bypass to reach their destinations.

The advisory clarifies that medical emergencies will be allowed after proper verification.

Citizens requiring assistance have been advised to contact the Traffic Police Control Room on helpline number 103. Traffic Police Srinagar has expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to the public due to the temporary restrictions. (KNC)
