Srinagar: Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said Monday that its latest missile barrage against Israeli targets included strikes aimed at the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the reported location of the Israeli Air Force commander.

Tehran’s state-aligned outlets quoted the IRGC as describing the operation as a “surprise” attack and stating that Benjamin Netanyahu’s fate was “unclear” following the barrage.

The claim comes amid a broader regional conflict triggered by a major joint U.S.–Israeli military campaign against Iranian military infrastructure and leadership targets in Tehran and other strategic locations. Iran has responded with multiple waves of ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and drones targeting Israel and U.S. military bases across the Gulf.

The exchanges followed strikes in Tehran that Iranian state media say killed Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and other senior figures in the Iranian government and military, though these reports have been variably confirmed by international sources.

In Jerusalem, Prime Minister Netanyahu has vowed that Israeli military operations will intensify in the coming days and thanked the United States for its support, signaling continued resolve in the face of Iran’s retaliatory strikes.

No independent confirmation has yet been provided regarding the specific targeting of Netanyahu’s office or the status of the Israeli Air Force commander. Israeli officials have typically refrained from commenting on the detailed impact of Iranian missile barrages, instead emphasizing the interception of projectiles by air defenses and the continuation of defensive efforts.

The conflict’s escalation marks one of the most severe direct confrontations between Israel and Iran in decades, with far-reaching implications for regional stability and international diplomatic efforts. (with inputs from multiple national and international agencies)
