Srinagar, March 28: Around 1,400 students participated in the Annual Cross Country Run (C.C. Run) 2026 organized by the Tyndale Biscoe and Mallinson (TBMS) Society in Srinagar on Saturday, marking the beginning of the new academic session.

The event brought together students from classes 5 to 12 of Tyndale Biscoe School and The Kashmir Valley School, reflecting strong participation and enthusiasm among young athletes.

The run commenced at 6:30 a.m. from the Sheikh Bagh campus and was flagged off by Director Education Kashmir, Nasser Ahmad Wani (JKAS) in the presence of school officials and staff.

The annual run is considered a key sporting activity aimed at promoting physical fitness, discipline and team spirit among students at the start of the academic year.

Participants competed across different categories, displaying endurance and coordination during the event, officials said.

Organizers said adequate arrangements were made for safety, hydration and medical assistance to ensure smooth conduct of the run.

“The event was conducted successfully with full logistical support and coordination,” an official associated with the organizers said.

The run concluded at the campus where refreshments were provided to participants.

The school management expressed gratitude to the district administration, traffic police, security agencies and health department for their support in facilitating the event.

Such events are regularly organized by the institution as part of its broader focus on holistic development and extracurricular engagement of students. [KNT]
