Routine Civil Defence Exercise Cancelled, Meant Only for Preparedness, says DC Poonch
Srinagar, Apr 19 : Deputy Commissioner Poonch on Sunday announced cancellation of the scheduled Civil Defence mock drill, stating that there is no reason for public concern as the exercise was only a routine preparedness measure.
As per news agency Kashmir News Corner — KNC, the Deputy Commissioner Poonch, in a post on X, said that the mock drill planned from April 20 to April 24 by Civil Defence and SDRF has been cancelled.
“No cause for alarm, this was just standard readiness training. Stay safe, stay vigilant!” the Deputy Commissioner said in the post.
Earlier, the Deputy Commissioner Poonch had issued a communique directing conduct of a Civil Defence air raid and blackout mock exercise across the district from April 20 to April 24, 2026, aimed at enhancing emergency preparedness and coordinated response mechanisms. (KNC)
