Srinagar, July 5: A 56-year-old man, who sustained critical burn injuries in a gas cylinder fire at his residence in the SD Colony area of Batmaloo on Saturday, succumbed to his injuries at the hospital on Sunday, officials said.
Officials told news agency JKNS that the deceased has been identified as 56-year-old, Ghulam Rasool, a resident of SD Colony, Batmaloo.
They said Ghulam Rasool was among three family members injured after a gas cylinder caught fire inside their residence on Saturday. He, along with his 55-year-old wife and 17-year-old daughter, was shifted to SMHS Hospital for treatment.
Officials said Ghulam Rasool succumbed to his burn injuries during treatment on Sunday, while his wife and daughter continue to undergo treatment at the hospital.
Police have taken cognisance of the incident, and further investigation is underway. (JKNS)
