Uri, Aug 13 (GNS): Police have arrested the accused involved in a hit-and-run incident in Salasan, Boniyar, hours after a labourer was critically injured, officials said.
The accused has been identified as Mohd Amin Ganie, son of Abdul Rasheed Ganie, a resident of Larri, Boniyar. The vehicle used in the accident has also been seized, officials told GNS.
The case pertains to Mohd Ismail Dhaker, 30, son of Ashmali Dhaker and a resident of Salasan, Boniyar, who was hit by an unidentified vehicle in Salasan area on Wednesday evening.
Locals shifted the injured to PHC Boniyar for immediate treatment. In view of the critical nature of his injuries, he was later referred to GMC Baramulla for advanced medical care.
Following the incident, Police Station Boniyar registered a case and launched an investigation to identify the vehicle and the accused.
Police worked out the case and arrested the accused within hours,” officials said. Further investigation into the matter is ongoing.(GNS)
