Shopian, August 18 : A woman was killed while her son sustained injuries after the scooty they were travelling on skidded off the road in the Amerbugh area of Imam Sahib in south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Tuesday.
According to officials, the incident occurred when the scooty, being driven by the woman’s son, lost control and skidded off the road at Amerbugh.
The woman, who was travelling as a pillion rider, suffered critical injuries in the accident and died on the spot. Her son sustained minor injuries in the incident.
The deceased has been identified as Saja Banoo, wife of Ghulam Qadir Naikoo, resident of Kharwara, while her injured son has been identified as Shakeel Ahmad Naikoo, son of Ghulam Qadir Naikoo.
Police have taken cognisance of the incident and initiated further investigation into the circumstances leading to the accident. (KNC)
