Ganderbal, Aug 13(GNS): A Jammu and Kashmir Police officer from Ganderbal reached a rare milestone on Thursday after donating blood for the 100th time at District Hospital Ganderbal.

The officer, Javid Ahmad Bhat, has been a regular voluntary donor for years and is known for extending help to patients in need across the district.

Hospital staff and his colleagues from the police department lauded his selfless service. Medical professionals at the hospital said regular donors like Bhat play a vital role in keeping the blood bank stocked and ensuring timely support for patients requiring emergency transfusions.

Speaking after the donation, Bhat struck a humble note. He said he tries to donate whenever possible to help those in critical need, and urged more people to come forward as regular donors.

Local officials also appreciated his commitment, calling it a strong example of civic responsibility. They encouraged residents to follow his lead and support voluntary blood donation drives.(GNS)
