Rajouri, Aug 13(GNS): Five members of a family from Moughla village in Kalakote area of Rajouri district were hospitalised on Thursday after allegedly consuming water from a well suspected to be contaminated with weedicide.

Officials told GNS that the family members fell ill after drinking water from their domestic well. They were immediately shifted to Sub-District hospital Kalakote for treatment.

All five have been admitted and are stated to be under medical observation. Their condition is being monitored by doctors.

Locals suspect that weedicide may have mixed into the well water, though the exact cause is yet to be ascertained.

Authorities have been informed and further details are awaited.(GNS)
