SRINAGAR: The Meteorological Centre Srinagar on Saturday forecast generally hot and humid weather across Jammu and Kashmir over the next few days, with intermittent spells of rain and thundershowers at scattered places.

According to the forecast, brief spells of rain or thundershowers are likely at scattered places, mainly during the early morning and afternoon hours, on August 29 and 30.

From August 31 to September 1, the weather is expected to remain generally hot and humid, with one or two spells of light to moderate rain and thundershowers at many places. Brief intense or heavy showers are also likely, particularly in a few districts of the Jammu division during the early morning and afternoon hours.

The weather is likely to remain generally dry from September 2 to 10, although brief spells of rain or thundershowers may occur at scattered places during the early morning and afternoon.

The MeT Centre has warned that brief intense showers at isolated locations could trigger flash floods, mudslides and landslides between August 31 and September 2.

Farmers have been advised to continue harvesting and other agricultural operations, it said.
