J&K Police intensifies traffic enforcement in Baramulla; 22 Vehicles Seized/ Challaned

September 09: Continuing its sustained efforts to ensure road safety, maintain traffic discipline and enforce traffic regulations, J&K Police in Baramulla has intensified traffic enforcement measures in Gulmarg.

During the period from 01 September to 07 September 2026, Police Station Gulmarg took action against 22 vehicles found involved in various traffic violations. The vehicles were seized/challaned in accordance with the prescribed legal provisions.

The registration numbers of the vehicles are JK05-6324, JK05N-8376, JK05Q-7639, JK05P-0996, JK05Q-8515, JK05E-2597, JK05L-8435, JK05Q-9044, JK05Q-3634, JK02M-8134, JK05P-7032, JK05L-8050, JK05Q-0739, JK05B-9796, JK05F-4046, JK05N-2133, JK05-3181, JK22A-1867, JK01Q-6294, JK05N-5087, UP12-6128 and JK02BN-2116.

The enforcement drive is aimed at curbing traffic violations, promoting responsible driving and ensuring the safety of commuters, tourists and other road users, particularly in the Gulmarg area, which witnesses significant tourist and vehicular movement.  Police has reiterated that strict action will be taken against traffic violations and urges all motorists to strictly adhere to traffic rules, carry valid vehicle documents, avoid rash and negligent driving, use seat belts/helmets as applicable, and cooperate with police personnel deployed for traffic management.

Police remains committed to ensuring safe roads, disciplined traffic movement and a secure environment for residents, tourists and visitors. Motorists are advised to treat traffic rules as a shared responsibility and contribute towards safer roads.
