September 29: Continuing its drive against drug trafficking, police in Kulgam recovered approximately 550 grams of Charas-like substance during dynamic naka checking at Sopat Crossing, in the jurisdiction of Police Station Devsar, and arrested one person.
The police party noticed a suspicious person carrying a polythene bag near Sopat Crossing. On seeing the police, he attempted to flee but was apprehended. He was identified as Suhail Ahmad Hajam son of Gh. Rasool Hajam resident of Nussu Badragund. During his search, approximately 550 grams of Charas-like substance was recovered from his possession.
Accordingly, a case FIR No. 71/2026 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Devsar, and investigation has been initiated.
Police urges the public to remain vigilant and share information regarding drug peddling or related activities. The identity of informants will be kept confidential.
