Ganderbal, Oct 08: A 62-year-old retired government employee of the Floriculture Department was found hanging at his residence in the Wussan area of Ganderbal district on Thursday, in a suspected case of suicide.
According to reports, the deceased, whose identity has not been disclosed, was a resident of Wussan, Ganderbal.
Following the incident, police rushed to the spot and initiated an investigation to ascertain the circumstances leading to the death.
The body was taken into custody and is being dealt with in accordance with the prescribed legal and medico-legal procedures.
Police have started further proceedings in the matter, while the exact circumstances surrounding the incident are being investigated.
