Udhampur, Oct 21 (GNS): At least two persons, including a 5-year-old girl and a woman, were killed and 16 others were injured after a bus met with a major accident at Gulli Gala Latti in Ramnagar area of Udhampur district on Wednesday.
Officials told GNS that a bus bearing registration number JK02AL-3477, which was on its way from Pachiound to Ramnagar, met with an accident at Gulli Gala.
The deceased have been identified as 5-year-old Takshika, daughter of Rakesh Kumar, resident of Chatrari, and a woman whose identity is yet to be ascertained.
The injured are being shifted to Sub District Hospital (SDH) Ramnagar for treatment.
Meanwhile, Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh spoke to Deputy Commissioner Udhampur Ananth Dwivedi and assured all necessary assistance. Rescue operations are underway.
Police have taken cognizance of the incident.(GNS)
