SBI Alleges Criminal Conspiracy, Cheating and Diversion of Funds; Incriminating Documents and Digital Evidence Recovered

New Delhi, October 30: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has conducted search operations at multiple locations in Pune in connection with an alleged ₹81.66 crore bank fraud case registered against M/s Aaj Ka Anand Papers Private Limited, its directors and unidentified public servants.

According to an official press release issued by the CBI, the case was registered on the basis of a complaint lodged by the State Bank of India (SBI), Mumbai, alleging wrongful loss of ₹81.66 crore to the bank.

The allegations include criminal conspiracy, cheating, criminal breach of trust and manipulation of financial accounts.

The investigating agency has alleged that the accused were involved in suppressing and misappropriating business revenue, as well as altering and falsifying books of accounts and electronic records.

It was further alleged that funds were diverted through current accounts outside designated banking channels without obtaining the consent of consortium lenders, thereby allegedly violating the stipulated sanction conditions.

The CBI stated that such activities resulted in the alleged diversion and misappropriation of funds, causing substantial financial losses to SBI.

As part of the investigation, searches were conducted on October 29 at several locations in Pune, covering office premises and residential properties allegedly linked to the directors of Aaj Ka Anand Papers Pvt Ltd.

During the search operations, the CBI recovered incriminating documents and digital evidence considered relevant to the investigation.

The seized material is being examined to establish the alleged conspiracy, trace the diversion and misappropriation of funds, and determine the roles of all persons involved in the case.

The agency said that further investigation into the matter is underway.
