Srinagar, June 17 (GNS): The J&K High Court has expressed confidence that the authorities are doing the utmost to facilitate the families of COVID warriors.
Hearing a Public Interest Litigation, a division bench of Chief Justice Gita Mittal and Vinod Chatterji Koul however asked Jammu and Kashmir State Legal Services Authority (JKSLSA) to interact with the dependents of the COVID warriors and ensure their welfare and wellbeing.
“We are assured by T. M. Shamshi, ASGI, on behalf of UT of Ladakh and by Aseem Sawhney, AAG on behalf of UT of Jammu and   Kashmir that every step as was directed by this Court to ensure the welfare and wellbeing of the dependents of the COVID warriors is being undertaken,” the court said, adding, “We are confident that the authorities are doing the utmost to facilitate the families of COVID warriors.” However, the court said it would like the JKSLSA to also interact with the dependents of the COVID warriors and ensure their welfare and wellbeing.
“Let a report be filed in this regard before the next date of hearing,” the court said and posted the matter July 7. (GNS)
