Baramulla | 09 March 2026: In its continued drive against drug trafficking, Baramulla Police apprehended two persons during naka checking at Chanpora Crossing near the Forest Range Office in Tangmarg.
During the checking, a naka party of Police Station Tangmarg intercepted a Tata Sumo bearing registration number JK09-7104 which was coming from Chanpora towards Tangmarg. Upon search, 08 grams of a brown sugar-like substance was recovered from the possession of the occupants.
The accused persons have been identified as:
Zahid Ahmad Mir S/o Gh. Hassan Mir R/o Checkthan Chanapora, Tangmarg, aged about 29 years and Mohd. Yaseen Magray S/o Mohd. Ramzan R/o Sonlipora, Tangmarg, aged about 24 years. Accordingly, a case FIR No. 07/2026 under sections 8/21-29 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Tangmarg and further investigation has been taken up.
Baramulla Police remains committed to eradicating the menace of drugs and will continue strict action against those involved in drug trafficking.
