New Delhi, July 26: The Central Government has constituted a high-powered task force to recommend comprehensive reforms in the examination system conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), with a special focus on strengthening technology, enhancing transparency, and introducing structural changes to ensure fair and secure examinations.
The multidisciplinary panel comprises eminent experts from technology, education, security, administration, and logistics, who will assist in revamping the NTA’s examination framework, particularly from a technological perspective while also recommending long-term structural reforms in the system.
The task force includes Infosys co-founder and technology expert Nandan Nilekani, former ISRO Chairman S. Somnath, former Intelligence Bureau Director Tapan Deka, IIT Madras Director V. Kamakoti, former Education Secretary Anita Karwal, and logistics expert Amrit Lal Meena.
According to the government, the expert panel will examine the existing examination ecosystem and suggest measures to improve the integrity, efficiency, and reliability of NTA-conducted examinations. The recommendations are expected to focus on the use of advanced technology, enhanced security mechanisms, streamlined logistics, and institutional reforms aimed at preventing irregularities and strengthening public confidence in the examination process.
The constitution of the task force comes as part of the Centre’s broader efforts to modernise the examination system and ensure that competitive examinations are conducted in a transparent, credible, and tamper-proof manner.
The recommendations of the expert committee are expected to play a crucial role in shaping the future framework of examinations conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).(KNC)
