Srinagar, Nov 19: Senior PDP leader and MLA Waheed-ur- Rehman Para criticized the Omar Abdullah-led government, accusing the “National Conference (NC) of confusion and lack of clarity on critical issues and political processes in Jammu and Kashmir”.“Omar Abdullah talks about statehood but avoids addressing the core issue of Article 370. Their approach is inconsistent—rhetoric on roads but silence where it matters most,” Para told reporters as per news agency KINS.Para was addressing the media following a meeting chaired by PDP President Mehbooba Mufti.The meeting as per Waheed , convened after Jammu and Kashmir’s first assembly session in six years, tackled key issues including the ‘political vacuum, Article 370, and the performance of PDP legislators’.Para stressed the need to “normalize politics in J&K without fear,” highlighting the ‘absence of meaningful discussions of the National Conference on Article 370, special status under Article 35A, and demographic concerns’.“Today’s meeting focused on bridging the political void and addressing the emotional and demographic concerns that resonate deeply with the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.Para said that “photo-ops, review meetings, and visits to Delhi are inadequate to resolve the complex problems of Jammu and Kashmir”.He stated the need for “concrete actions on issues like Article 370 and special status, which he argued require sincere attention”.Reiterating PDP’s commitment to holding the NC government accountable, Para said the party would “consistently demand the fulfillment of promises made to the people, including resolving cases against the youth and advancing the political process”.“We are not here to confront the government, but we will ensure they deliver on their promises and mandates,” he said.Clarifying PDP’s stance on its relationship with the National Conference (NC), Para added, “We are not against NC, but we expect them to fulfill the agenda on which they were elected.
