Srinagar, June 18 : In a significant political development, former Deputy Commissioner from Kulgam, Bashir Ahmad Khan, former Tehsildar from Rajouri, Khursheed Ahmad Tantray, and former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Municipal Council Bijbehara, Bashir Kaleem Dar, on Thursday joined the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

The leaders were welcomed into the party fold by PDP President Mehbooba Mufti during a joining programme held in Srinagar.

Speaking on the occasion, Mehbooba Mufti welcomed the new entrants and expressed confidence that their vast administrative experience and public service background would strengthen the party at the grassroots level and contribute towards addressing the issues faced by the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

The newly inducted members reiterated their commitment to serving the people and said they were inspired by the PDP’s vision and policies aimed at safeguarding the interests and aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.

Senior PDP leaders and party functionaries were also present during the joining ceremony. The party leadership described the development as a boost to the PDP and expressed hope that the inclusion of experienced former officials would further strengthen its organizational structure across the Union Territory.
