Srinagar, Mar 03: Under pressure Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday said the resolution passed by the House on restoration of special status in first session still stood and given the fragility it was a ‘big thing’ for him.
“We have done what was supposed and required to be done in the first session,” Omar while referring to adoption of special status restoration resolution said. “All the parties, including PDP, supported the passage of the Bill.”
“It is the same Bill that everyone around expected to be rejected, but it was passed and as it still exists today, it is a big thing,” said Omar, as per news agency Kashmir Bulletin.
On a separate query over a purported alliance with BJP, Omar outrightly said there were no talks with them (BJP). “There are no talks about any alliance with the BJP, nor is there any scope for it even as our thoughts don’t align.”
Notably, the Omar-led government is set to present its first budget since taking over reigns in the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir. (KB)
