DC Budgam chairs Public Darbar at remote village Sitharan in Khag Block

States focus on to explore Tourism potential of the area  and to complete infrastructural projects in the shortest possible time

BUDGAM: The Deputy Commissioner (DC), Budgam, Akshay Labroo today chaired a Public Darbar at remote village of Sitharan in Khag Block of the district.

Speaking on the occasion, the DC said that the area is abundantly rich in natural beauty and has huge potential for the Tourism development.

He said that the focus of the district administration is to create all basic facilities at this destination and tap its vast tourism potential.

The DC urged locals to become part of initiatives and help administration in promoting Tourism across Sitharan- Tosamaidan belt.

On the occasion, local delegations  from village Sitharan and adjacent villages raised their suggestions and demands with the DC.

After giving patient hearing, the DC assured that all their genuine demands shall be taken up with the relevant quarters for prompt redressal.

In order to improve connectivity, the DC said that a 10 kilometre Sitharan- Tosamaidan road project has been approved under NABARD and work on the same shall be taken up for execution at the earliest.

He said that it would ensure better connectivity and enhance tourist footfall towards Tosamaidan and will open ample livelihood opportunities for locals.

Concerned were also given directions for the speedy work completion on Tourism related projects and stressed on smooth functioning of all Tourism related facilities at Sitharan.

The DC instructed concerned BDO to submit priorities on macadamzation of inner roads also, so that work on same can be projected during coming financial year.

Meanwhile, the DC also assured that the improvement works related under Jal Shakti, KPDCL, Health and Education  sectors have been duly noted and shall be taken with concerned for prompt redresall.

He called on augmentation of playground at Sitharan and instructed concerned department to provide sports equipments and create required sports infrastructure at the local sports field for local youth.

ADDC Budgam, Dr Akramullah Tak; CPO, ACR, SDM, CMO and other District and Sectoral officers were present on the occasion.
