Kupwara, Dec 5: Awam-i-Ethihad party (AIP) candidate Khursheed Ahmad Dar contesting DDC elections from Mawar constituency held a daylong roadshow here on Saturday.
The roadshow which was kickstarted from Puthwari Nowgam passed through Qalamabad, Audoora, Drangsoo, Shahnagri, Khuddi, Pringroo, Shatgund Bala, Shanoo, Muqam, Shiekhpora, Haril, Monabal, Bandi, Batagund, Hangah, Marathgam, Kargama, Shirhama and Lach areas.
The rally was throughout joined by thousands of supporters who received the rally with slogans and chants in favour of party and contesting candidate.
Khursheed popular in social circles as “Sheeda” who is also block president of the Er. Rashid led party addressed people at various places on its way asking the people to ensure ‘a thumping win of the party’.
Maintaining that the election is of pivotal to the development, Dar said the people of Mawar should come out en masse to make the most of this opportunity and to give a befitting reply to vested interests. (KG)
