Srinagar, Dec 15 (GNS): As the ongoing District Development Council enters its penultimate phase on Wednesday, the polling staff deputed to various stations are complaining lack of basic facilities at the designated centres.

A group of staffers presently stationed at Rakh Duslipora, Block Singpora told GNS that they were ‘puzzled’ to see the deplored condition of designated centre which according to them offers them no basic facility even.

“We have no electricity, no floor matting, no bathroom here at the venue”, they said adding “Amid this chilly weather the authorities have literally left us at the mercy of Almighty.”

“It has been a horrendous experience since our arrival at the venue”, an official part of the group said.

Urging the district administration for required assistance, the staff said that “We appeal the district authorities to respond to our genuine concerns for an early redressal of our issues to ensure at least a good night stay at the centre.”

When contacted SDM Pattan Syed Faheem told GNS that he will look into the matter at the earliest.

“Any such venue where the polling staff faces any issue will be assessed for an early resolution” he added. (GNS)
